Efiwe Selected for Google for Startups Immersion EMEA

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news: Efiwe has been selected to take part in Google for Startups Immersion EMEA, a program delivered in partnership with Antler. It’s a milestone we’re proud of, and one that reflects the progress our team and our community of learners have built together over the past year.

Google for Startups Immersion EMEA is a structured program designed to support high-potential startups across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It runs in two phases. We’ve been confirmed for Phase 1: Online, a week-long series of masterclasses running from October 22nd through the 28th. During that week, founders selected for the program will get access to hands-on technical sessions, mentorship from experienced operators, and a community of peers building at a similar stage, all delivered live, with real-time Q&A built into every session.

Phase 2 is the offline component of the program, and it’s invite-only. Selection is based on a combination of Phase 1 participation and product traction, with selected teams notified in early November. We don’t know yet whether we’ll be invited to continue, but we’re going into Phase 1 ready to make the most of it.

Efiwe launched on August 16, 2025, built on a simple belief: talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. We set out to build a mobile-first, AI-powered coding education platform for the billions of people around the world whose primary, and often only computing device is a smartphone. No laptop required. No need for a constant internet connection. No prior coding experience necessary.

In the year since launch, that mission has translated into real numbers. Efiwe has grown to over 21,000 learners across 158 countries, learning in 246 languages plus sign language. What started as a single HTML course has grown into eight full courses spanning HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Tailwind, Python, SQL, PHP, and Prompt Engineering, taking learners from their very first line of code to writing production-grade software, entirely from their phones. An AI tutor built into the platform watches what learners type, understands what they got wrong, and gives instant, personalized guidance, turning what used to require a classroom, a laptop, and a stable internet connection into something that fits in someone’s pocket.

Being selected for a program like this, backed by Google for Startups and Antler, is a meaningful vote of confidence in that mission, and in the traction we’ve built pursuing it.

Over the next few weeks, our team will be diving into the Phase 1 sessions, connecting with other founders in the program, and looking for the kind of guidance and partnerships that help a startup like ours grow responsibly and sustainably. If we’re selected for Phase 2, we’ll share that news too.

For now, we’re grateful to Google for Startups and Antler for the opportunity, and to every learner, partner, and team member who’s helped get Efiwe to this point. This is one more step in a much longer journey, and we’re glad to have you with us for it.
