New battery-aware feature automatically optimizes platform performance when device power drops to 10% or below, extending learning time for mobile-first users.

Today, Efiwe announced the launch of Battery Saver Mode, an intelligent battery-aware feature that automatically adjusts platform performance to extend learning sessions when a device’s battery level reaches 10% or below.
The new feature addresses a critical challenge faced by mobile learners worldwide: the need to maximize device battery life while continuing to learn. By detecting low battery levels through automatic monitoring on supported devices or manual activation on all others, Battery Saver Mode automatically disables resource-intensive typing animations and visual effects, instantly displaying educational content to reduce battery consumption and increase platform performance, while maintaining Efiwe’s full functionality.
“In many parts of the world, learners don’t have constant access to charging infrastructure,” said Chidi Nwaogu, Co-founder and CTO of Efiwe. “A student might have one or two opportunities to charge their phone per day, and when their battery hits 10%, they shouldn’t have to choose between finishing a coding challenge and having enough power to get home. Battery Saver Mode removes that choice by intelligently preserving battery while improving performance and keeping the learning experience intact.”
The feature operates through dual activation modes designed for maximum accessibility. On Android devices and browsers with battery monitoring capabilities, the system automatically detects when a device’s battery has dropped to 10% or below and is not connected to a power source, instantly switching to an optimized mode that bypasses typing effects and displays all instructional content, code examples, and feedback immediately. On iOS devices and other platforms where battery monitoring is restricted due to privacy policies, learners can manually activate Battery Saver Mode through an always-visible toggle button, giving them full control over performance optimization regardless of their device or operating system.
Beyond technical optimization, this feature launch reflects Efiwe’s broader commitment to meeting learners in their actual circumstances rather than ideal conditions. For millions of smartphone users in emerging markets, battery anxiety is a constant reality that affects when, where, and how long they can engage with digital learning tools. By building battery awareness directly into the platform architecture, Efiwe ensures that power limitations become one less barrier between learners and their coding education.
“Accessibility isn’t just about language support or offline capability,” said Abhinav Negi, Co-founder and CEO of Efiwe. “It’s about understanding the entire context in which people learn. When we talk to learners in rural India or remote African communities, battery life comes up constantly. They plan their day around charging opportunities. Battery Saver Mode means they can squeeze in a few more challenges during their commute or finish a level while waiting for the next bus, without worrying about their phone dying before they get home.”
The feature joins Efiwe’s expanding suite of mobile-first optimizations designed specifically for resource-constrained environments. Since its launch in August 2025, Efiwe has demonstrated that comprehensive coding education can function entirely offline, operate smoothly on entry-level smartphones, deliver personalized AI feedback without cloud dependencies, and now extend learning sessions even when battery power becomes critically low.
